Get in touch

Email [email protected] with your question and I’ll get back to you within a couple of days. TodoBar is built by one person, so you’re talking to the developer directly.

When you write in, it helps to mention:

  • Your macOS version (Apple menu → About This Mac)
  • Your TodoBar version (TodoBar menu → Settings → About)
  • A short description of what you were doing and what you expected

Common questions

How do I change the global hotkey?

Open Settings (⋯ menu → Settings…), then click on the Quick Add Hotkey field and press a new combination. Press Escape to cancel. The default is ⌃⌥⌘T.

My iCloud sync isn’t working.

Make sure iCloud Drive is on for your Apple ID (System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → iCloud Drive), and that “TodoBar” is allowed under Apps Using iCloud. Then toggle Sync via iCloud off and back on in TodoBar Settings.

If that doesn’t help, email me and we’ll figure it out.

How do I unlock unlimited tasks?

Open the menu (⋯) and choose Unlock TodoBar…, or click the upgrade banner that appears when you cross 10 active tasks. The unlock is a one-time $9.99 purchase that restores on every Mac signed in to your Apple ID.

I bought TodoBar on another Mac. How do I restore?

Open Settings → Restore Purchase, or use the same option on the unlock screen. As long as both Macs are signed in to the same Apple ID, your unlock comes across.

How do I export my tasks?

Open the menu (⋯) and choose Export as Markdown… or Export as JSON…. You’ll get a save dialog to choose where the file goes. Both formats include every task - active and completed.

Does TodoBar collect any data about me?

No. There’s no analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs. Your todos live on your Mac and (if you opt in) in your private iCloud account. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What macOS versions are supported?

TodoBar requires macOS 26.3 (Tahoe) or later. Older macOS versions aren’t supported.

Can I customize the look of TodoBar?

Not yet - TodoBar follows your system appearance (light or dark) automatically and uses your accent color where it makes sense. If you’d like more customization, let me know.

How do I uninstall TodoBar?

Quit TodoBar (menu → Quit TodoBar), then drag TodoBar.app from Applications to the Trash. Your iCloud-synced data stays in iCloud unless you remove it from System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → TodoBar.

Found a bug?

If something is broken, the fastest path is an email to [email protected] with a screenshot if you can grab one (Shift-Command-4). I read every report.
